Valerie Sinclair wrote this poem after spending several years teaching in MacKenzie. Even after she moved to Prince George, she remembers the brutally cold winters in the early 1980’s. Spring was so welcome after such harsh winters. The winters don’t seem so cruel anymore, but spring is still welcomed by all of us who live in the north. Valerie’s poem was published in the 2022 spring edition of the retired teachers magazine Postscript.
